Olive oil in soap April 10 2015, 0 Comments

As mentioned previously I thought it might be useful to give people information about the ingredients used in our natural products.    We keep our product recipes simple as we are confident in the quality of the ingredients we use.  Today the ingredient under the spotlight is olive oil.

For people of a certain age olive oil was something that was bought from the chemist and used to help ear ache.  Then the nutritional benefits were realised and it has been a staple kitchen ingredient for many years.     It is also great for the skin.

Extra-virgin cold pressed olive oil is best.  Olive oil is rich in proteins, minerals and vitamins and essential fatty acids.  Olive oil has anti-inflammatory and anti-wrinkle properties,  it is very good for dehydrated and irritated skin, good for the prevention and treatment of stretch marks or scars and makes a good conditioning treatment for hair.  Olive oil on its own makes a great make-up remover, it heals, conditions, firms and softens

A staple oil in natural soap making, we use olive oil in our baby soaps, black pepper soap, sandalwood soap, tea tree soap, and argile clay soaps.
